 Since the 1980's, Tim Burton has been among the many great directors and makers¹ of movie cinema. His cinematic specialty² is in horror and dark comedies. He once said, "I am not a dark person and I don't consider myself dark." But, he clearly has a mind unlike any other that enables him to create movies that will send chills up the audiences' spine³. Burton uses many different techniques such as lighting⁴, sound and camera movements to apply intense and emotional effects on his films. From lighting to sound to camera movements, he has captivated the minds of generations, young and old. All of the techniques he uses allow the audience to be one with the characters and see what they see and feel what they feel. Although he claimed earlier that he is not a dark person, anyone can conclude that Tim Burton enjoys the dark side of movie making. Nonetheless, his genius use of camera movements along with music and lighting make his movies unique and engaging. Tim Burton is truly a master at his craft.
