 This is something that was certainly not uncommon¹ of the time. She is constantly trying to make ends meet, but after applying the trade for quite a long time, she is worn out, quite literally².

  And no one could have imagined what happen next.

  Theodolar met the emperor ? .  ? got a relatively³ tough hill to climb, especially because marrying a commoner was outlawed⁴.

Constantinople- 500 AD. In the mid⁵ to the teeming⁶ busy metropolis⁷, a young woman named Theodolar is born into poverty. Like many woman of her class, she is forced into prostitution, and although she got her fame for her wild sex show, she decides to pursue a new line of work. 

  She decided⁸ to hamper⁹ her dancing shoes and try to be a wool spinner.

  Of course this is not quite the action-packed career that she is used to. But in Constantinople, there's a kind of opportunity for upward mobility¹⁰.

  Even though Theodolar has given up her career as a prostitute, she hasn't lost her skills of seduction. and she uses them to hook the most important man in the empire.
