The last stage of a star's life is as much an idea of science fiction as a physical reality. Put forward by science writer Adrian in his book the Iron Sun, the suggestion is that in the future men could use black holes to transport themselves instantly around the universe, and when i say instantly, i really mean like that. For years most scientists dismissed black holes as fanciful conjecture⁷.
