Please look at the following sentence: If you had taken her advice, you wouldn't be in such trouble now. 如果那时你听了她的劝告，你现在就不会陷入这么大的麻烦了。

We can see : 主句的谓语动词用的是过去将来时，表示那个动作发生在现在，而从句的谓语则用的是过去完成时，表示那个动作发生在过去。

The above sentence is a Conditional¹ Sentences of Mixed Time. 上面提及的句子称为“错综条件句”。错综条件句就是主句和从句的动作发生的时间不一致，那么这是我们就要根据主句和从句中各自的动作发生的时间做调整。

If the weather had been more favorable, the crops would be growing still better. 如果前些日子天气好的话，庄稼现在就会长得更好。该句中从句用的是过去完成时had been，主句用的是过去将来进行时:would be growing。此句话言外之意就是：The weather wasn't favorable a few days ago and it is just so-so that the crops is growing now. 前些日子天气不好，庄稼现在生长还行。

If he had received six more votes, he would be our chairman now. 如果他那时多得六票，他现在就是我们的主席了。改句话中，从句用的是过去完成时：had received, 这就示意这该动作发生在过去，主句用的是过去将来时：would be这就示意这该动作发生在现在. 此句话言外之意就是：He didn't receive six more votes and he isn't our chairman now. 他没有多获得6票因此他现在不是我们主席。

So from today's example sentences, we can get tow typical sentence patterns: 1 If S had done, S would be doing. 2 If S had done, S would do. 第一个句式是假设过去的情况是那样的话，现在就正在进行这这个动作。

第二个句式就是假设过去的情况是那样的话，现在就是这样的状况。

在错综条件句中，要特别注意时间状语。句子中必须给出明确的时间状语或是通过上下文中可以看得出明显的时间状语，否则就按照我们前10多期的句型中的谓语形式套用。
