接招：上面的2个例句中都用到了一个词语pull one's leg。Pull是“拉”的意思，and is spelled p-u-l-l，pull one’s leg从字面上看就是“拉某人的腿”，这可不是中文里所谓的“扯后腿”的意思，而是指“和别人开玩笑”。 当你觉得别人是在逗你，而你不相信他所讲的话时你说，"You're pulling my leg." 意思相当于“You are fooling¹⁰ me!”（你是在愚弄我吧！或是“你是跟我开玩笑的吧！） 注意使用这个短语时，如果是开一个人的玩笑，leg用其单数形式，如果是很开多人的玩笑leg用其复数，这个决定于leg前面的物主代词或者表示人的名词是单数形式还是复数形式。

 

有的人特别喜欢吹牛，总是在人前卖弄那些根本不可能实现的计划，下面这个对话中的Richard就是这样一个人，他的两个朋友正在议论他的一件事情：

 

A: Did¹¹ Richard really go to Italy¹² this summer?

 

A: Richard 这个夏天真的去了意大利了吗?
