智慧人生篇章 第5期:隐私权与信息透明

 　　The argument on how to get the balance right between the right to privacy in private life and the importance of having a free press working in the public interest to expose truth is still continuing. When I look for guidance in the New Testament¹, I come across these striking words said by Jesus,there's nothing covered up that will not be uncovered, nothing hidden that will not be made known. Therefore everything you've said in the dark will be heard in broad daylight and what you've whispered behind closed doors will be shouting from the house tops. It looks therefore, as said, the New Testament is unequivocally on the side of transparency. In private life, as the New Testament stresses, we shouldn't do anything we will be ashamed to have revealed, and in public life, apart from exceptional circumstances, transparency must be the guiding principle.

　　人们依然为如何权衡保护隐私权和媒体为大众利益披露事实真相的重要性而争论不休。我在《新约圣经》中寻求答案，耶稣曾经说过这么一段振聋发聩的话。“若要人不知，除非己莫为，世上没有不透风的墙。所以，你背地里的一言一语总有一天会街知巷闻，你关起门来的悄悄话早晚会大白于天下。”由此可见，《新约圣经》明显的倾向于信息透明。就像圣经中强调的，在私生活方面，我们就不应该做任何羞于暴露出来的事情，而在公务方面，除了极个别的情况，一定要坚持信息透明的原则。
