After the quarterfinals, Williams says she is trying to stay relaxed.
"Whatever is going to happen is going to happen and the next morning - Tuesday morning I will still be Lauryn Williams and people will like me just because and not because of what happens in that 11 seconds, tomorrow night," she said.
To defend her title, Williams will have to beat an elite3 field that includes former champion and countrywoman Torri Edwards of the United States, Olympic 200 meters champion Veronica Campbell of Jamaica, and 2005 world bronze medalist Christine Arron of France.
In addition to the women's 100, four other gold medals are up for grabs, including the men's 10,000 meters, the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, the men's hammer throw and the men's triple jump.
