Have you finished your thesis?

玛丽:

Yeah, and tomorrow is the day for the defense¹.   

写完了.明天就该答辩了. 

罗斯:

You`re a bit nervous about it, aren`t you?   

你有点紧张.是不是? 

玛丽:

You bet I am. Do you know what I`ll have to do?   

可不是.你知道怎么答辩吗? 

罗斯:

Well, usually four of your professors form a committee and they will ask you some questions about your thesis.   

通常由四个教授组成一个委员会.他们会问你一些跟你的论文有关的问题. 

玛丽:

How long does it take?   

大概要多长时间? 

罗斯:

About one hour.   

大约要一个小时吧. 

玛丽:

Sounds terrible.   

太可怕了.
