The growth of CPI, a main gauge1 of inflation, slightly slowed in November. It grew 3 percent year on year, down from the 3.2 percent recorded in October. Food prices, especially that of vegetables, were the main driver. 

For more insight, joining us now in the studio is Professor Zhu Ning from the Institute of Finance at Shanghai's Jiaotong University. Thank you for joining us.

Q1: In September and October, the CPI has been above 3 percent year on year. Seasonal2 demand and weather play their role in boosting prices. What does it indicate? What can we expect the CPI to be next month?

Q2: China’s top leadership unveiled economic and social reforms last month. It will give the market a bigger role in setting prices. How will it influence the CPI next year?
