Leaders of Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are gathering1 for a summit in Tokyo. Japan's Kyodo News says Japan hopes to rally ASEAN support to rein2 in China's strong stance on the airspace. 

For more analysis, we are joined in the studio by Jia Xiudong, a Senior Research Fellow at the China Institute of International Studies.

Q1: First, can you tell us the real purpose the Japanese government is having such a summit with ASEAN countries?

Q2: Japan has decided3 to announce a new secrecy4 law on Friday, the same day of the 76th anniversary of the Nanjing massacre5. Along with the new National Defense6 Program Outline, what challenges will that pose to China? Can you tell us more on that?
