Hollywood, like everyone else, loves a good Christmas movie, and this holiday season is no exception. A plethora1 of films are being offered up to Americans, who have a little extra time and money on their hands.

It’s a time when the Hollywood studios pack the box office with theatrical6 stocking stuffers: big budget blockbusters, superhero sequels, animated7 3D fantasies, Christmas family films and bona fide Oscar bait.
And this season is no different. Franchise8 films are "Catching9 Fire" with the Hunger Games-Two record-breaking run.
Not to mention other popular sequels like: Thor: the Dark World to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
And "Frozen" exceeded expectations. The animated three-D take on Hans Christian10 Andersen’s "The Snow Queen" set a Thanksgiving weekend debut11 record of 93-million dollars and counting. But with gritty dramas like American Hustle12 and Christmas comedies like The Best Man Holiday there’s a glut13 of movies vying14 for a piece of the box office pie.
But the hope for studios is to deliver the gift that keeps on giving through awards season, holiday season and ..possibly through future sequels to come
