　　put in a good wor for me 直译为“为我说一句好话”，这个短语的真正意思是：“帮我美言几句”。因此，当美国人说:"Can you put in a good word for me to get that job?"时，他要表达的意思就是:"Can you recomment me for the job?"、"I want to get that job, so can you introduce me to your company?"、"Can you give me some help to get that job?"。
