Bang Bang, literally3 means stick. It is the nickname used for the farmer-turned porters in this hilly city, who use poles to carry things about.

"China’s economy relies on the spirit of Bang Bang . They can carry heavy luggage and do the hardest job. The most important aspect of China’s development is the diligence of its people. You have done a great job, and every penny you earn comes from your hard work." Li said.

One Bang Bang gives his stick to Premier Li. Premier Li interacts with them asking them about their health and standard of living.

Later in the day, Premier Li visited a local company which employed large number of migrants displaced by the Three Gorges4 Dam Project.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Premier Li also visited the Yangtze River golden waterway and the Guoyuang port in Chongqing. He recounts that China’s reform which began more than 30-years’ ago was similar to sailing upstream.Premier Li said the country’s reform should be carried out steadily5 so it can go further in the long term.
