After President Xi Jinping's visit to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous1 Region, people of all ethnic2 groups in China have spared no efforts to come out against terrorism.

An article titled "We will no longer stay silent" started to spread on the Internet early Thursday morning. Eleven Uyghur students from universities across China got together to write it. The article condemns3 Wednesday’s terror attack in Urumqi, the capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It also calls for people of all ethnic groups to fight shoulder to shoulder against terrorists.

"We are all angry about what the terrorists did. We decided4 not to sit in silence any longer. Because the terrorists will probably continue with their campaign of violence and use it to kidnap Xinjiang and Xinjiang people if we did nothing." Chohrat Ablimijit, student with Xinjiang University Of Finance & Economics, said.

The article proved very popular. Many people appreciated the students for the courage they showed. Some even hoped that a Uygur version would come out soon. In Urumqi, communities have adopted digital management tools to provide the administration with the information they need on residents.

"We have already put procedures in place for the instant messaging software to offer local people more convenience. This could also reduce the possibility of conflicts." Urumqi community worker Zhu Danyun said.

President Xi Jinping reiterated5 during his visit to Xinjiang, that the prolonged stability in the region is of vital importance to the reform and development of the whole country. A stable and prosperous Xinjiang will also secure the integrity and the revival6 of the whole nation.
