A Vietnamese vessel1 has capsized after harassing2 and intentionally3 ramming4 a Chinese fishing boat in the South China Sea. The crew aboard the boat were rescued.

 

The clash happened near China’s Xisha Islands. Vietnam has sent a number of ships to obstruct5 the drilling of Chinese companies in the waters where the collision took place.

 

The Chinese side has taken measures to stop Vietnamese interference and lodged6 serious representations to the Vietnamese side, asking them to immediately stop the disruptive activities.
