(单词翻译:单击)

After the deadly explosion, Kunshan's mayor described the incident as a 'severe' industrial accident, and that a thorough investigation1 would search for answers.

Before the accident, workers had reportedly complained about the working environment, saying the workshop was severely2 polluted and dusty. However, they did not receive any response. When interviewed, many injured workers said they did not receive any training on what to do in the event of a dust explosion, with many not even knowing what it was.

According to regulations, the workshop should be cleaned daily, but the workers said cleaning was only carried out once or twice a month. An accidental fire had also broken out in the same workshop two months ago, but no additional safety measures were taken after the incident. According to the State Council, a special team has been formed to investigate the cause of the accident, and to look into those responsible.

The State Administration of Work Safety also has a team of eight dust explosion experts to help with the investigation. Meanwhile, the Supreme3 People’s Procuratorate will also be involved in the investigation, to determine if any laws were broken.
