China's Ministry1 of Transport says it has sent the rescue vessel2 "Nan-hai-jiu 101" to help retrieve3 the black boxes of flight 8501.
The ship set sail at ten AM today from south China's Haikou City. It is heading for the sea area where the wreckage4 is located. The ship is expected to arrive there in four days. Meanwhile, a seven-member expert team joined the Nan-hai-jiu 101 in Sanya city. They will bring along high-precision scanning and locating equipment.
The Ministry of Transport also prepared the Nan-hai-jiu 115, another rescue vessel. It is in south China's Yongxing Island awaiting any requests by the Indonesian government.
