The State Council on Monday appointed Lo Wai Chung as police chief of the Hong Kong Special Administrative¹ Region.

56-year old Lo Wai Chung has over 30 years of service and experience in criminal investigation², international liaison³ and security and operations. He was promoted as deputy commissioner⁴ of Hong Kong in 2013.

Lo promised to maintain security and prosperity of Hong Kong, by providing high quality service. He says some of his major tasks will be combating high tech crimes and terrorism and strengthening international cooperation in these areas.
