Police from the Chinese mainland report that 32 Taiwan telecom fraud suspects deported from Malaysia in April will be investigated and may face prosecution on the Chinese mainland.
The suspects are being held in a detention center in Beijing. They were deported from Malaysia together with 65 mainland suspects. Police from mainland and Taiwna met in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai for their seond round of consaultation on jointly fighting telecom frauds.
Mainland police have asked Taiwan to provice assistance in investigation and exchanged ecidence with Taiwan side. Mainland police said they will deepen cooperation with Taiwan, and continue to retrieving scammed money and hunting down fugitives.
