More countries have expressed support for China on the South China Sea issue. Tanzania, Uganda, The Commonwealth of Eritrea and the Union of Comoros have all spoken in favour of China's stance on the issue.
China has expressed its appreciation and urged the countries involved in the dispute to resolve the issue through dialogue.
"More and more countries are expressing their understanding and support for China's stance on the South China Sea issue. They support the idea that relevant countries should solve the issue through dialogue based on bilateral agreements and regional consensus."
"The support from these countries as well as from the vice chairperson of the Africa Union is in accordance with the facts of the South China Sea issue. It is the fair and just voice from the international community. We appreciate it, and we urge relevant countries to negotiate and solve the dispute through dialogue," said Honglei, spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry.
