 He was elected Arkansas Attorney General in 1976 and Governor of Arkansas in 1978. His first term as a governor encountered great troubles. Many of his reforms were strongly rejected. He was defeated in 1980 re-election and spent most of the next two years working on his re-election campaign. Clinton was again elected governor in 1982 and kept his job for ten years until he became President of USA in 1992.

Meanwhile, he had encountered many troubles, was involved in a series of scandals such as Whitewater controversy1, Lewinsky scandal, etc. and was impeached2 for obstruction3 of justice, but was subsequently acquitted4 by the U.S. Senate.

The Foundation focuses on four critical areas: health security, economic empowerment，leadership development and citizen service, and racial, ethnic7 and religious reconciliation8.
