Bianque，a famous physician，came to see King Wu of the state of Qin．The King told the doctor about his disease and Bianque was ready to give him a treatment．The ministers at the king's side said to him，“Sire，your malady is in front of your ears and below your eyes．Even with treatment it might not be cured and very likely you will lose your hearing and your sight．”
The king related these words to Bianque．Bianque was enraged and threw down the stone needle which he used for giving treatments．“Sire，you discuss your illness with one who knows how to effecta cure but you allow those who know nothing about medicine to spoil the whole thing．If the state of Qin is governed in this way，then one such mistake on your part is enough to bring down the state．”
