1. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown says he's quitting office, bringing to a close the Labour Party's 13-year hold on power. His two chief rivals from last week's election have worked out a deal to form a coalition. The Conservative Party chief David Cameron is taking office.

2. Senators are having a hard time finding anyone who will accept blame for the oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico that caused a huge oil spill. They've been questioning executives of three companies that were doing work on the rig and each company is blaming one of the others.

3. Police are investigating the death of one of professional golf's young players, whose body was discovered Sunday afternoon in her suburban Las Vegas home. Police in Henderson, Nevada found Erica Blasberg's body inside the home. The 25-year-old was in her 6th season on the Ladies Professional Golf Association tour.

4. Families are picking through broken furniture outside their toppled homes in Oklahoma today. It's the aftermath of the violent storms, including tornadoes that tore through the southern Plains Yesterday. Five people were killed and dozens more were hurt.
