"I think we have a great opportunity to think for the long term. And one of the things that a real problem in recent years is the sense there might be a general mindset you felt at the general election at any moment meant the government didn't think for the long term. I think we have a great opportunity to do that."

Prime minister there and all the ministers leaving the cabinet meeting so far seem pretty upbeat.

"How was the first cabinet meeting today?"

"Actually it was an excellent meeting, and we got down to business, and there's a lot of challenge ahead, and we are going to address them together, and I hope to do so in a very ambitious, purposeful way."

"How did you feel about sitting next you a Liberal Democrat, former rivals?"

"I'm absolutely fine."

"Very good, very constructive and a very good first start."

"It was great actually. I think we had a really constructive meeting, and I was delighted by the sense of partnership and common purpose that we had there. So..."

"Will you bury the hatchet?"

"No hatchets to bury, and the whole point is (Really?) we had a great agreement."

"Excellent, couldn't be better."

"Do you feel strange sitting there with Liberal Democrats?"

"Well, actually I have been working at Centre for Social Justice now, and we work with every parties. So it's not really strange to me at all. I think you know you find the best of each of you and make sure it works."
