1. Ships are heading back to resume work on the leaking oil well in the Gulf after the remnants of Tropical Storm Bonnie have breezed past. Dozens of vessels evacuated the areas as the storm bore down. It weakened to a tropical depression before moving over the well.
2. German police have raised the death toll to more than a dozen in a stampede inside a tunnel crowded with techno music fans. Police say dozens more were injured. They're still trying to determine exactly what happened at Love Parade music festival.
3. A Canadian air force jet crashed and exploded in a ball of flames during a training run for an air show. The pilot was able to eject from the plummeting plane before it hit the runway. He is treated and released from a hospital.
4. A week after Argentina legalized same-sex marriage, the Ministry of Tourism hosted a "Winter Queer Tango Festival." The gay tango movement started five years ago, setting up to show that dance does not always have to involve a man and a woman |
