A law enforcement official says the teenager accused of attempting to bomb a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland, Oregon planned the details by himself, and not at the direction of any foreign terrorist organization. Mohamed Osman Mohamud was arrested Friday night and will appear in court on Monday.

 

2. A body has been found in an area near Syracuse where police have been searching for a 20-year-old missing college student. The Onondaga County Sheriff's office says it's not clear whether the remains are those of Jenni-Lyn Watson. Watson has not been seen in over a week.

 

3. As the United States and South Korea prepare for war games tomorrow, a South Korean marine commander is promising retaliation for the North Korean artillery bombardment that killed two marines and two civilians. North Korea is accusing the South of using civilians as a human shield around artillery positions.

 

4. More than 100 Santas gathered for an annual convention in Berlin on Saturday to prepare for their duties for the forthcoming festive season. The Santas organized by Berlin's Student Employment Agency were shown what to do when delivering presents to the children, and then gathered to cheer, ring their bells and sing Christmas songs.
