1. Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been granted bail. But he is not out of jail yet. British court determined he can't be free as he awaits an extradition hearing. However he is remaining behind bars as Swedish prosecutors appeal.
2. Officials say 150 people have been rescued from a snow-swept Ontario highway. At one point, more than 300 motorists were stranded there. So far there are no reports of deaths or serious injuries.
3. The Philadelphia Phillies have placed another ace up their sleeves. Sources say pitcher Cliff Lee has turned down more money from the Yankees to sign with the Phils. He joined to rotation that some say is now the best in baseball.
4. "The King's Speech" has grabbed the leading seven Golden Globe nominations, including best movie drama. "The Social Network" and "The Fighter" tied for second with six nominations each. |
