  Typical American Meals
Americans usually just grab a quick bite for breakfast and lunch.  There is simply no time for the classic American breakfast of bacon and eggs on weekdays when parents are rushing to get the kids to school and themselves to work on time.  The average American relies on a cup of coffee and a bowl of cereal to get him or her through the morning.  Lunch is also eaten on the run; typically a sandwich or a soup and salad will do it.  Dinner is the largest meal of the day. Sometimes Americans who have a big Sunday lunch will call that meal "dinner," then in the evening they have a lighter meal called "supper."
American dinners are high-cholesterol nightmares.  A traditional American dinner consists of a big piece of fried meat with ketchup or mayonnaise, plus buttered vegetables and fried or baked potatoes with butter, and some kind of sweet for dessert.  Other times, the family might eat a microwaved frozen dinner, a takeout  pizza or a bucket of fried chicken from KFC.
