1. The 112th Congress will be sworn in today with incoming House Speaker John Boehner taking the gavel from Nancy Pelosi. House Republicans say the first order of business would be to repeal the health care bill that was passed just last year.
2. The Navy has permanently removed a senior naval officer from command of an aircraft carrier after raunchy comedy videos became public. The Navy says Capt. Owen Honors showed “extremely poor judgment” in the videos. Honors was reassigned to an administrative role.
3. Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab, but her legal trouble may not be over. Sheriff's investigators want Lohan charged with battery for last month's fight with a Betty Ford Center rehab worker. A Beverly Hills judge has said that Lohan would be thrown back in jail if she violates probation.
4. Two people are waking up much richer than when they went to bed. There were two winning tickets in last night's Mega Millions jackpot - one ticket sold in Idaho, the other in Washington State. The two tickets will split the $355 million jackpot. |
