1. Incredible video out of Iraq. A photographer captured the bomb blast on tape while covering the aftermath of other explosions. The series of blasts in Kirkuk killed at least seven people.
2. Protests in Cairo are entering their third week. The government is calling for an end to the demonstrations and has promised not to retaliate. But protesters insist they won't leave until President Hosni Mubarak resigns.
3. A vote to extend parts of the Patriot Act has failed in the House. GOP leaders fell just seven votes short of a two-third majority needed to pass the measure. The bill would have extended provisions dealing with roving wiretaps, FBI access to business records and surveillance of so called "long wolf" terrorist suspects.
4. And a party continues in Green Bay. Fans and players party together, celebrating the Packers’ Super Bowl win. Thousands packed at Lambeau Field to welcome the Lombardi Trophy back to Wisconsin. |
