[00:19.22]the land of sunshine and surfing.
[00:22.04]George and Fiona are two Australians
[00:24.48]who have joined us for today's show.
[00:26.92]So first of all, tell us a bit about yourselves

[00:31.31]Hi.Well,I live on an acre
[00:34.74]of land outside Melbourne
[00:37.18]but my family actually came here
[00:39.26]from Greece in the 1980s--
[00:41.68]in fact, Melbourne is the city
[00:43.68]with the largest number of
[00:45.26]Greek people outside Athens!
[00:48.33]At first, we didn't feel we belong here,
[00:51.62]but now we are attached to the land we live on.

[00:58.61]Hello. Australia is my birthplace
[01:02.45]but my mum came from Scotland
[01:04.72]and my dad came from France.
[01:06.92]That's the great thing about Australian culture
[01:10.13]it's such a mix of different cultures.
[01:13.02]The early settlers were mostly English
[01:15.33]and Irish, but since 1945,
[01:18.41]the population has become more and more mixed
[01:21.61]with people from Southern Europe and Asia.
