1. High winds and heavy rains pounded sections of the Midwest. Several tornadoes touched down in Indiana. Flooding threatened residence across Ohio. And storms in Tennessee brought down power lines and trees.

 

2. Protesters continuing today in Yemen. Thousands of anti-government demonstrators held another day of demonstrations in the capital. They are refusing to stand down until President Ali Abdullah Saleh resigns. Saleh has accused Israel and the US of interference.

 

3. The International Space Station is getting an extra storage room. The orbiting astronaut will install the 21-foot-long chamber today. It's loaded with supplies, as well as a humanoid robot that will be tested as a potential astronaut helper.

 

4. And dozens of reptiles rescued from an abandoned warehouse have a new home. The snakes, tortoises and even an alligator were found in South Carolina in November. They are now living in a sanctuary that hosts children’s groups.
