2. New Haven police say DNA confirmed that a man arrested Friday in Connecticut is the East Coast Rapist. He’s suspected of terrorizing women with sexual assaults from Virginia to Rhode Island over 12 years.

3. It's the second day of a trial for an American government contractor who has been detained in Cuba for more than a year. Alan Gross is accused of illegally bringing communications equipment. Cuba says he was trying to help overthrow the government there.

4. Over a million revelers turned out for the “Black Ball” street carnival parade in Brazil. The “Black Ball” is one of the most traditional and eagerly-awaited street parties of the Rio Carnival.
