1. Expect another raucous day in Wisconsin after a controversial vote in the state Senate. Republicans approved the governor's measure to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from most public workers. They voted without any Democrats who were still camped out in Illinois.
2. A controversial congressional hearing kicks off in Washington today. Representative Peter King will chair the hearing on preventing homegrown radical Islamic terrorism. Critics have condemned the hearing as anti-Muslim and have likened it to the McCarthy-era hearings investigating communism.
3. New Jersey's governor has declared a state of emergency ahead of the latest severe storm system. The already-soaked state is expected to get two to three more inches of rain. Parts of Ohio and the Mid Atlantic also are under flood watches and warning. |
