BERLIN, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Finnish(芬兰) soccer veteran defender Sami Hyypiae is going to quit his active career after the season 2010/2011 at his current club Leverkusen, aiming to start a professional coach schooling, Hyypiae announced on Monday. Sami Hyypiae, 37, will start his coaching certificate(证书执照) as co-trainer of the Finnish national team in addition he agreed shadowing at Liverpool, his former club.
"My time as a player in Leverkusen was wonderful and it will end perfectly if we qualify for Champions League. I have enjoyed the last two years as a professional in a fantastic team and a great club that gave me the opportunity to enter into coach business," Hyypiae said.
The 105-time Finish national player receives from July 2012 a two year contract to co-coach the professional team of Leverkusen.
