[00:00.62]易考范文四
[00:03.46]What a revealing picture it is!
[00:07.84]In the picture, a finger tries in vain to knock over a tumbler.
[00:12.32]The words on the tumbler read “unfair regulations”,
[00:16.69]while those on the finger “public”.
[00:19.21]Why do these unfair terms imposed on consumers remain intact,
[00:24.46]in spite of the latter's repeated endeavor to sweep them away?
[00:28.51]From my point of view, a number of factors are responsible for the phenomenon.
[00:33.76]For one thing, some giant monopolistic industries often abuse their dominant position
[00:40.32]to take advantage of consumers, who have no choice but to accept those unfair deals.
[00:46.78]For another, government fails to deter this problem due to its weak surveillance system,
[00:53.23]which practically overprotects local enterprises for the sake of profits.
[00:58.80]It is not a tough problem to tackle as long as we find its root.
[01:03.07]In the first place,
[01:04.49]anti-monopoly laws should be issued and enacted to ensure the consumers' interest.
[01:10.51]Secondly, it is imperative for the government at all levels to enhance supervision and
[01:17.51]tighten restriction of the suppliers.
[01:20.24]As a result, these unfair terms are bound to disappear sooner or later.
