1. Officials in Louisiana are warning residents in low-lying areas to get out, as water gushing from a floodgate creeps in. The Morganza spillway’s opening has diverted water from heavily populated New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

 

2. The head of the International Monetary Fund is denying allegations that he sexually assaulted a hotel maid in New York. Sixty-two-year-old Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been accused of attacking the woman in his suite on Saturday afternoon. He was later removed from a flight to Paris just moments before it was to depart.

 

3. An imam in Florida, along with two of his sons have been arrested on federal charges they provided some $50000 to the Pakistani Taliban. According to the indictment, the funds were used to buy guns, support militants' families and promote the organization’s cause.

 

4. NASA's next-to-last space shuttle flight is set to blast off Monday morning. Endeavour will fly under the command of astronaut Mark Kelly. His wife, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will be at Cape Canaveral for the launch.
