Day 81 - Ask For Raise Before asking for raise, notice how well your department and company are doing. Is your manager complaining about the cutbacks? Right timing is essential. Make before and after comparison. Write your goals for the next quarter rather than explain your need for a raise as the personal issue, for example: my husband lost his job. Present it in a business work. Explain how others with similar responsibility are paid. Show the industry research and show your accomplishments and goals. Never present your request for raise as demand or thread, that makes your embarrassed. Instead, take question approach supporting by the facts. You could say: “I’ve accomplished more than expected.” showing the accomplishments, “and I plan to do even more during the next quarter” show goals, “how do you think the company would be allowed to pay me extra dollars per month” indicate the raise “that was the others with similar positions are making these days.” show market research. Last of all, wait until your manage is on an personal high, and don’t expect the decision over night. Give the boss your ideas and give him or her time to think.
