Hello, Jessica Askin with the National Weather. Cloud over the Top End and Queensland in a trough is triggering isolated showers and storms, mainly in the tropics though. Thick cloud over southern New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania is causing showers. And cloud over South Australia is only bringing the odd shower. Today in Queensland, showers are forecast for the Gulf Country, Cape York Peninsula and east of about Charleville to Richmond. It’s fine elsewhere with a very high fire danger over most southern districts. It extends down and across much of New South Wales where is mostly fine, apart from a few showers in the south and on the far north coast. Rain areas over Victoria's east are easing, but isolated showers will become more widespread over Gippsland later in the day. It is wet across much of Tasmania with locally heavy rainfalls possible above the east. Showers are forecast over South Australia’s agricultural areas and Flinders, and southern pastoral districts. Clear skies and a sunny day across most of WA, and fine in the Northern Territory, apart from storms over theTop End. Now for a look at tomorrow’s forecast in the major centers, mostly fine in Brisbane, a few showers in Sydney and Melbourne, mostly fine in Adelaide, rain is easing in Hobart, and it should be a mostly sunny day in Perth. |
