Hello, Kathryn Stolarchuk with the National Weather. Dense cloud over the northwest tropics in an active monsoon is generating heavy showers and thunderstorms. Widespread cloud in a trough is causing showers and storms in the east and patchy cloud over the coasts of Victoria and Tasmania is bringing light showers. To the states now, expect scattered showers and thunderstorms over most of Queensland, particularly heavy above the northwest of the state. For New South Wales, flood warnings are in place for central and northeastern districts, it will be mostly fine in the remainder. Victoria will see light showers in the south, clearing early in the afternoon. It should be sunny north of the divide and becoming sunny in the south later in the day. Down to Tasmania, there will be scattered showers above the west and far south extending to central parts during the day. In South Australia, it will be fine throughout, although partly cloudy over the southern agricultural area. Across to Western Australia now, expect isolated showers in the afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. And to the Northern Territory, where flood warnings are active for the Top End and Gulf Country, due to monsoonal showers and thunderstorms. Let's take a look at the forecast for tomorrow now. There will be showers and storms above the north. It should be mostly fine along the east coast and sunny conditions for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. |
