Thick cloud is covering the country's southeast as tropical moisture is drawn south, ahead of a trough and a deep low.This is generating areas of rain, some heavy with potential thunderstorms.Skies are mostly clear over the west under a high.

Queensland can expect some thundery rain over the central interior on Sunday. Showers and isolated thunderstorms over the northern tropics.

There should be rain for parts of New South Wales as well. Isolated above the southern and central ranges and late shower is developing in the far southwest.

Widespread rain in Victoria.Heavy falls on the dividing range and in the west during the morning and there should be patchy rain in the south.

In Tasmania, (it) can expect heavy falls and possible flash flooding above the west and the south. Those falls will ease to showers and clear in the north during the morning.

In south Australia, there will isolated thunderstorms extending over the agricultural area. Winds possibly reaching gale force over agriculture areas and the Flinders district.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing later in the morning for Western Australia. Isolated coastal showers clearing later for the southeast coastal district.

Up north and the territory can expect isolated showers and thunderstorms north of the Elliott. A fine and cool day in the south.
