A band of cloud over the east in a trough is causing heavy rain over Victoria and showers through New South Wales and southern Queensland. Thick cloud over the Northern Territory in moist and stable air is triggering widespread thunderstorms, clear skies in the west under a high. Around the states, there will be showers and storms across central parts of Queensland today. Dry in the southeast. Isolated thunderstorms are possible about the northeast tropical coast. In New South Wales, it will be mostly fine in the north, rainy in parts of the southern inland with showers over the rest of the state. Wet weather will continue across Victoria today. Heavy falls are expected in most districts. And thunderstorms are possible in the east. In Tasmania, a rainy day is predicted.
