A cloud band is pushing across South Australia with a front and trough bringing areas of rain and storms. Cloud over eastern Victoria and New South Wales in a series of troughs is triggering storms along the ranges and scattered showers on the coast. Skies are clear elsewhere under high pressure ridges. In Queensland, showers across the far northwest and along much of the east coast, fine over the west. New South Wales: fine and mostly sunny across the northwest, mostly fine about the southern and central coasts, the chance of afternoon thunderstorms elsewhere. In Victoria, isolated showers and possible storms extending from the west to all areas except east Gippsland. Isolated showers developing above the north of Tasmania this morning. Those showers will increase to rain above the northwest and extend statewide in the afternoon. In South Australia, isolated showers and thunderstorms clearing through the morning, but they'll redevelop later above Kangaroo Island and coastal parts of the southeast district. In WA, isolated light showers near the western south coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the eastern interior clearing early. The Alice Springs District can expect a few showers and one or two storms mainly in the south. It will be a fine and mostly sunny day further north apart from isolated showers near the coasts. Looking ahead to Monday. Showers clearing in Melbourne. A mainly fine day for Hobart and Brisbane. Showers and thunderstorms for Canberra and Sydney. |
