President Barack Obama says there have been some progress in talks over raising the nation’s debt ceiling. Obama praised a proposal from the bipartisan "Gang of Six" who say they are nearing agreement on a major plan to cut the deficit by more than four trillion dollars over the coming decade.
3. Seventeen-year-old Tyler Hadley made his first court appearance after being charged in the killings of his parents. Authorities say the Florida teen beat his mother and father to death with a hammer before hosting a party on Saturday for dozens of friends. A motive remains unclear.
4. In Los Angeles, sheriff deputies have released this video of a little chihuahua scaring off a couple of armed robbers at a cigar shop. The owner's spicy little pup chases the bandits out of the store and down the street. |
