Low cloud pushing over Victoria and western Tasmania is triggering a few showers. Patchy cloud along the east coast is also causing showers mainly offshore. Around the states today:
In Queensland, showers will increase over the east coast and extend inland in the afternoon with possible thunderstorms and rain areas.
There will be scattered showers for the coast and adjacent ranges of New South Wales, more isolated in the south. Snow showers on the Alps, but it's looking fine elsewhere apart from some early frost inland.
In Victoria, expect local fog patches with early frost in the northeast, isolated showers over the west and south of the state, becoming cloudy elsewhere.
Scattered light showers about the west and far south of Tasmania will extend to Flinders Island later in the day. It should be fine elsewhere after some morning frost and fog.
Apart from a few showers in the south, it should be a mostly clear day for South Australia.
Further west, showers and storms will increase in the southwest corner of WA, towards the evening. It's looking fine elsewhere.
And a cool and mostly sunny day across the Northern Territory, tending cold in the south.
Looking ahead to tomorrow. Showers for Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. Mostly sunny in Melbourne and Adelaide. Fine in Hobart. Rain easing in Perth. And dry and sunny conditions for Darwin. |
