2. London is reeling from a riot that tore through the Tottenham neighborhood Saturday night, leaving more than two dozen police officers injured. Peaceful protest against the fatal police shooting of a man turned violent with rioters torturing a double-decker bus and trashing a shopping mall. 

 

 

 

3. Thousands of Verizon communication workers are on strike from Massachusetts to Washington D.C.. Dozens of people wearing red shirts gathered outside Verizon headquarters in New York Sunday, carrying signs saying they are on strike from middle class jobs. 

 

 

 

4. It's the end of the road for Wisteria Lane. ABC is confirming reports that Desperate Housewives will be starting its eighth and final season come fall. The series was a pop culture splash when it premiered in 2004, but has since seen a decline in ratings.
