1. A spokesman for Libya's rebels says forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi are posted just outside Tripoli and it wouldn't take long for them to get to the center of the capital. There's still no word where Gadhafi is, but his son Saif, who was reported captured yesterday, is now free and insisting his father's loyalists will fight back. 2. Hurricane Irene is strengthening as it heads for the Bahamas. The storm could be a major Category 3 storm as it passes over Turks and Caicos by the end of the day. And Irene could become a dangerous Cat.4 before it's expected to hit Florida, Georgia or South Carolina later this week.
3. Dominique Strauss-Kahn could walk out of a New York courtroom a free man today. Sexual assault charges against him are expected to be formally dismissed. The former IMF chief still faces a civil suit by his accuser.
4. Testimony resumes today in the civil trial of a Kentucky doctor accused of amputating part of a man's penis without his knowledge. Sixty-four-year-old truck driver Phillip Seaton and his wife Deborah sued the doctor who says he saved Seaton's life, because part of his privates were cancers. |
