2. President Barack Obama is stumping for his massive jobs bill from an outdated bridge that links Kentucky and Ohio, the home states of two top Congressional Republicans. It's a symbolic move designed to put pressure on the GOP and convey resolve in the face of a sputtering economy

 

 

 

3. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says the government's main disaster aid account is "running on fumes". She says it could be tapped out by early next week. Napolitano spoke to the Associated Press on her way to Joplin, Missouri where she's scheduled to view tornado damage. 

 

 

 

4. Diana Nyad apparently is planning another shot at swimming from Cuba to Key West after falling short of her goal last month. Cuban authorities say the 62-year-old marathon swimmer has called a news conference for Friday before once again beginning to swim across the Florida Straits, they say.
