2. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tells Libyans that the US hopes their former dictator Muammar Gaddafi will soon be captured or killed. Clinton spoke Tuesday at a town hall-style meeting in Tripoli.

 

 

 

3. Thousands of people jammed the streets of a town in northern Israel to welcome home a soldier who’d been held captive by Palestinian militants for more than five years. Gilad Shalit's father says the 25-year-old is healthy, but will need time to recover from physical and psychological wounds.

 

 

 

4. And it will cost you another pretty penny to mail a letter next year. The US Postal Service says it’s increasing rates to 45 cents starting January 22nd. The agency lost 8 billion dollars in 2010 and a bottom line will probably be even worse in 2011.
