1. Egypt's military ruler says the arm forces are prepared to hold a referendum on an immediate transfer of power to a civilian authority if people demand it. In a televised address, Egyptians were also told that president elections would be held before June 30. 2. Despite protests outside and one lawmaker dousing colleagues with teargas, South Korea's ruling party forced a vote on a new trade agreement with the US. The vote was 151 to 7. Opponents say the agreement will cost South Korean's jobs.
3. Some travelers are getting a jump start on the holiday weekend. Chicago's O'Hare airport was busy as well as Penn Station in New York. Experts say the cost of Thanksgiving weekend travel is up to about 20% over last year.
4. And Major League players and owners have signed an agreement on a new contrast. The five-year deal will introduce blood-testing for human growth hormone, and limits the use of smokeless tobacco by players. It also expands the payoffs to ten teams. |
